Brandon Acupuncture Center and Wellness Newsletter 4/22/20

Hello everyone!

Liliana and I look forward to treating our clients soon at our office!

 Telemedicine

In the meantime, we are set up to help you by providing secure online telehealth sessions. During these sessions, I can discuss your health needs and any symptoms you may be experiencing. I can address your nutrition goals and suggest herbal and homeopathic remedies for symptoms such as pain, anxiety, insomnia, allergies, digestive problems, fatigue, sore throat, cough, fever, sinus congestion and headaches.

I often tell my clients that I get to play detective by gathering information and examining them physically to include tongue and pulse. I ask many questions about lifestyle and emotions (such as grief, fear, frustration, anger, and stress level).

Benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine

As a TCM practitioner (Traditional Chinese Medicine), I consider your body to be either “in balance” or “out of balance.” I look for any signs of disruption of Qi (energy) or blood. Wei Qi is the defensive energy which protects our body from pathogens such as colds and flu. The goal is to maintain good flow of Qi and to strengthen Wei Qi and harmonize the various organ systems. The organs include your Liver, Heart, Lungs, Spleen, Kidney and Lungs.

Lungs Imbalance Symptoms

Our Lungs are getting a lot of attention lately due to the COVID-19 situation. Lungs imbalance symptoms include cough with or without phlegm, shortness of breath and wheezing. Acupuncture and herbs can help to relieve these symptoms and quickly restore and improve lung function. Fever occurs due to excessive heat from pathogenic factors that penetrate deeper into the body. Excessive heat can lead to inflammation and pain. We have herbal formulas to dispel heat and phlegm from the body and to relieve inflammation and pain.

I encourage you to stay active and exercise. Tai Chi is greatly beneficial to help strengthen your body and calm your mind.

Please call our office if you have any questions. We are here to help you.

Our phone number is 813-381-3835.

Yours in Health,

Merle Friedman, AP and Liliana Szpiech
